From a business coach with the experience to help you.  Because all of those doubts, those uncomfortable emotions, those self-sabotage behaviors, those feelings of “I’m not good enough to run with the big dogs,”  ALL of that comes from your subconscious mind.  Perhaps connected to messages you received or examples you observed as a child.  Or maybe because it really has been more challenging to be an entrepreneur or executive these last few years and your mind has reached a point of business burnout.

Regardless of where these feelings come from, you KNOW they’re in your way, they are really the biggest obstacles you face.  Because without them, you can be more active, creative and collaborative and you can find a way to overcome the marketplace challenges.

But how do you get “unstuck” from these feelings and get back to that vibrant motivation that you used to feel?

That feeling still belongs to you, that feeling of motivation, that CAN-DO spirit, that conquer the world (or at least your market) attitude.  It’s there inside of you.  It’s just being shrouded by the fears and doubts and self limiting feelings.  We can get rid of those.  You can get rid of those.  And I can help!

I can help because I’ve lived every inch of it myself and I’ve helped myself and others to get unstuck and move past those internal obstacles to meet the challenges of business head on with increased energy, creativity and enthusiasm.  My story?

I started my first business at the beginning of the second quarter of 2008.  Even with a brand new website that didn’t even show up until the 5th page of search engine results, the phone was ringing and I was thrilled.  Then fall of 2008 came along, the phones stopped, the revenue stopped and I was devastated.  I watched the websites of other entrepreneurs in my field disappear from the search engine results throughout 2009; and these people had been in business long before me, but the impact was too much for them.  And then there was me, with NO list to draw on, NO traction in the marketplace, NO reputation–because I was brand new.  But I found the strength to keep going. How? I used a number of mental mindset and hypnotic techniques, including NLP, to eliminate the doubts that popped up. (It was like a whack-a-mole game for awhile there!) Oh yes, I experienced them.  The difference is, I conquered them.  I built up a ton of evidence for myself that no matter what happens, I have a great business, and I have the personal strength and abilities to move past any challenge, and learn from it and grow even stronger. You can have that, too.

So here we are, 2013.  The business is still here. Not just here, but the biggest, most successful business of its kind in the state of Minnesota!  I had zero prior business experience, I worked in national and Fortune 500 businesses prior to starting ChangeWorks. My Dad was a social worker. I had no examples to follow in my family, no roadmap.  And if I can move through those internal obstacles with the tiny amount of business acumen and experience I had then, YOU can move past whatever is holding you back today.

Not only that, I have learned to be a student of entrepreneurship.  I’ve learned through the school of hard knocks how to analyze a situation and brainstorm good solutions; more importantly how to execute those solutions, because no solution helps you if it doesn’t get out of your head, or off the paper.

Because of this, and I suppose the “vibe” I throw off, I have attracted many clients from different walks of business.  Many small business owners, many C-level executives from large corporations. (I’ve spent a lot of time with corporate executives in various roles in service and manufacturing; executives are comfortable with me.) I’ve worked with people you would know, but of course confidentiality is part of this business. And unlike my other client work, executives of Fortune 500 companies don’t want their names in testimonials.  I get it. They trust me, and they also trust me to keep their anonymity.

Do I believe in this?  You bet.  I have a business coach myself, and I always will.  The investment I make in business coaching is the most valuable investment I make.  It provides me with an objective view of my business from outside of my business, and from a different area of expertise.  It’s great to look at your business through a different lens.  The ongoing motivation to push through challenges. The first time I used a business coach was my second year in business, 2009, when I determined that I didn’t have the experience, knowledge or skills to tread the waters of the Great Recession myself.  My revenue DOUBLED that year.  I haven’t looked back since.  I’ve changed coaches a couple of times since then, and I encourage you to do the same from time to time.  I find that at some point I’ve learned all I can from one coach, and it’s time to get another perspective.

Choosing the right coach is the most challenging part of the relationship!  They have to “get” you and your business.  You have to trust them, and believe in them.  There’s an investment in time up front on both of your parts, to know that the relationship will work from both sides.

Three months is long enough to make a strategic difference in your company, to change how you approach your marketing or your product mix and therefore change your revenue results.  As they say if you want different results, then do something different! But you have to do different with deliberation.

Too many entrepreneurs “go with their gut” and go through a number of years of iterative testing and trying and seeing what does/doesn’t work before they finally come across an approach that works for them.  Problem is, even then they may not know why it works, and therefore won’t know how to change it to adjust to shifting market conditions in the future.  So then they’ll be back to that iterative process.

So much time (and money!!) is wasted doing it this way.

So, together, we will take a look at your overall business picture and decide on 1 or 2 areas to focus during our 3 months together.  We’ll look for the “low hanging fruit” the areas that can make the biggest difference in the shortest amount of time, but without losing focus on the long term.  There are lots of things you can do to quickly increase your top line, but some of those things will hurt your business in the long run.  I’ll help you stay clear of those, so that you increase your revenue NOW, AND position yourself for steadily increasing revenue in the future.
